Road Safety Week 4–10 May

Road Safety Week is an annual activity that engages hundreds of communities across the country in raising awareness of road safety.
The week is a great opportunity to kick-start road safety activities at your organisation, or to link your existing activities to a national week. There are also lots of ways to meet curriculum goals whilst also learning about road safety.
It's free to join in and if you register you'll receive an electronic action pack with downloadable posters, activity sheets, online interactive resources and other ideas for road safety activities to run during the week.
This year's theme is Step Up for Safe Streets and we'll be encouraging everyone to step up and play their part in making our roads safer. Children and young people are great at being road safety leaders and speaking up for safety; to parents, to peers, to drivers and to the community about the road safety issues that affect them. You can choose to run activities linked to this theme, or on a road safety topic of your choice.
Road Safety Week is coordinated by Brake, the road safety charity, sponsored by QBE Insurance and supported by Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency.
If the date doesn't suit your schedule, most resources are also not date-specific, so you can still register and use the resources at another time.
